is this not a good way to solve sudoku?

easy sudoku
asked:

say i know that one spot or the other in one square has to be the two..and in another square, same thing..now, if the 2 is one way in that one square, it’s going to affect the place where the other 2 is

now if i can’t find any way in my brain to find out where the 2 belongs, i just try both combinations out to see which one works…is it not a good strategy even though it works to just guess and see what works?

because i’m not logically thinking..i’m just taking the easy way out
i’m doing one that’s in the newspaper..it’s rated 5 stars for difficulty

Unless you’re using a pencil for the possibilities and a pen for the definites, I don’t see how that would work. There’s no way to tell the difference.

If I know that a 2 is in one of two adjacent squares, I put a very small 2 on the line in between them. That could help me out in one direction, but I don’t use that as a definite for the other directions.

When I’m playing Sudoku, I go in number order. Then I go back when I go 1-9.

I don’t really thing your way is the best way to do it, but hey, if it works, who cares :P ?
