Poink asked:

The US version of Pokemon HGSS waters down the casino with a one-room gaming club where you are given the Coin Case. Voltorb Flip plays like a cross between Sudoku, Picross and Minesweeper. On a square grid of 25 panels, each can be a 1, 2, 3, or a Voltorb (0). If you get the Voltorb, you lose all your coins. The first number you turn over is the base number, and each subsequent number is a multiplier. You are able to mark squares by what you suspect them to be before you turn them over. For each row and column, there is a note marking two values: One is the sum of the numbers in the row, and the other is how many Voltorbs are in the row.

If there are zero voltorbs in a row, then you can avoid marking any voltorbs in that row. If the same row’s sum is five, you can mark each panel with a 1, because the sum must be five and there are five panels without Voltorbs. Using this method, one can cross-examine each row and column to try and determine which panel can be what value. Sort of a logic process, but one that still seems to require much guesswork.

Are there any simple clues to this game to make it much easier to play? Sort of a process for elimination so that one can systematically determine all the possibilities? Sort of a quicker method of determining the final markings for each panel after analyzing each intersection based upon that row’s possibilities.

In summations, any hints or clues to guarantee the best possible outcome from each round of this game to avoid wasting any more time without simply picking every square of every row of zero Voltorbs?
If a row’s Voltorb count and Sum both equal 5, then that row can be ignored.

If a row’s Voltorb count equals zero, then that entire row can be flipped.

librarychick asked:

Hey, thanks for taking the time to answer my question (suck up much?).
Anyway, I’m at our holiday house, and I have most of my things here. I’m a 14 1/2 year old girl, and I am SO BORED! I brought a WHOLE suitcase up here full of thick books (about 3cm of pages). I counted, and I have read all 17 of them already. I brought my sax, clarinet, guitar and singing music up here and my fingers are sore from steel strings, my mouth is strained and my throat hurts.
Sorry to be such a pessimist!
It’s cold and rainy, but I can’t go out of the house anyway because a freak wave came and washed me and a friend onto the rocks, and trying to hold on I scrabbled my feet around and to a 5mm deep section out of my heel, so it’s still a bit gross and it HURTS!
Does anyone have any idea of things that could entertain me for another 2 weeks? I’m an only kid, so my parents are both busy, and my dog is 11 years old so she’s not really up to a lot of walking like me. (and she’s a bit vicious)
I’ve got a book of Sudoku that I’ve been working on and a few puzzles (all easy or waaaay to hard).
I’ve been cooking and we’re running out of room in our pantry.
Please help, I’m so bored I feel like bashing my head in a wall!

PS: I’m an insomniac (mild) so I don’t fall asleep to about 3am, so while I’m trying to go to sleep, if I’m not tired quiet activities are good, because I have a lot of pent up energy and it’s driving me nutso!!
We also have a DVD player and X-Box but only 1 game.

THankyou so much,

They try to get me to play, then I win a lot and still don’t like the games (not saying I’m good, I am prob. lucky or they take it easy on me). In the game though, I feel kinda bored cause of all the detail like busy work type stuff. When I went to school, I didn’t know what I liked so they told me Engr., so now I’m finished with that this semester. That also turned out to be a lot of number stuff. I’m just trying to find good way to spend my time. I like Cigar + Party + Drink lol.
